Date What happened where
10/3/2007 United Reformed Church, Mount Road, Tettenhall

A fantastic crowd, good food and plenty of free punch (which was rather good too) all combined for a brilliant night of dance and humour. Everybody got into the swing of it with hats, boots and guns at the ready.

The band were on top form and at one point Pennie got over-enthusiastic with one of the tunes - it took her a short while to realise that everyone, including the rest of the band, had stopped and were listening to her play... what a melodeon player... strongest arms of any woman we know!

We had a very appreciative crowd and after our final encore we finally danced our feet off by finishing the night with one of the most enthusiastic Thread the Needles we've done. Thanks to everyone for asking us to do the gig. We know we had as much fun as you. See you next year.

23/2/2007 Round Table, St Barts Church Hall, Penn

Back on familiar territory and this dance was a two fold affair, both celebrating birthdays and for charity - a Romanian drop in centre for children. The wine flowed, the laughter rang out. We were promised loads of samosas and we were not disappointed... Yum!!

The dancers were very enthusiastic and almost overfilled the hall, so Kaz made a few minor but ingenious changes and everyone had a great time. It kept the band on their toes too! There was a raffle, some lucky person won an exclusive New Corona T shirt (available at any of our gigs for £10.00) and Kaz auctioned a car for the princely sum of £8 - it was a scale model replica after all!

There was excitement at the end of the night - as Kaz was preparing the dancers for the last dance, a strip light decided it wanted to join in. Luckily no one was hurt, everyone got stuck in to clear up the mess, and the final dance got under way. Our thanks to all concerned - great fun was had by all. It was an excellent night and a large sum of money was made for a fantastic charity.

6/1/2007 Private Function - Willington Hall, Tarporley

Cheshire was our destination for this one....a wedding. Kaz was recovering from flu and we were a man down as Clif had also succumbed. The band and Kaz performed admirably and the guests and hotel staff had a fantastic time. Kaz introduced some new dances for this one and the night ended with a mens versus ladies race to Flying Scot. Those girls can't half run with their dresses hitched up...

Congratulations to the happy couple, and let us know about the new addition to the family.

9/9/2006 Charity gig for Compton Hospice

A lot of very enthusiastic dancers had a fun time and we also had the excellent outcome of raising £1500 for the Compton Hospice. And we got asked when we were going to return to Newhampton, so we'll try and find out.

6/5/2006 Newhampton Arts Centre

Another appearance at the Newhampton Arts Centre, and once more it was a very enjoyable evening, with some very enthusiastic dancers, including some who hadn't expected to have so much fun and now want to come to the next one...

4/3/2006 Charity gig for Medecins sans Frontieres

This was at the Newman Centre, Tattenhall.

Kaz is now becoming a seasoned performer. This was a charity dance for Medecins sans Frontieres, which was greatly enjoyed by all 60 or so dancers and which raised around £1500 for the charity.

28/1/2006 Crewe Alexander football stadium

Kaz's second outing with us was for a running club's 20th anniversary. The 120-strong contingent were a little reluctant to get to their feet initially, but a combination of Kaz's cajoling and a well-stocked bar got them well and truly going in the second half.

21/1/2006 Oaklands bowling & social club, Wolverhampton

This was the first time that we'd done a barn dance with Kaz calling. A small but quite enthusiastic crowd and some entertaining calling led to a very enjoyable evening.

12/11/2005 Newhampton Arts Centre

Barn dance, Chris Mulvey calling.

Very successful evening - as evidenced by the "SOLD OUT" stickers on the posters, which was nice. The audience was an inexperienced one, and Chris did a great job of leading them through a succession of dances, gradually introducing new moves, so by the end of the evening they were hoofing like they'd been doing it for years...

It was a good venue too, with a spacious floor, plenty of room on the stage, and a good in-house PA so we didn't have to lug anything more round than our instruments. Which was also nice.

11/11/2005 The Chindit, Wolverhampton

This was one of the joint New Corona Band/Second Time Round gigs, with Pennie and Kaz swapping vocal duties and assorted tunes and songs being done to an enthusiastic reception.
