About us

We are a four-piece band playing traditional English (and some foreign) music for barn dances and ceilidhs. We consist of Penni on melodeon, Clif on Appalachian dulcimer, Peter on guitar, and Mike on double bass and bass guitar. In addition, we have a regular caller (and singer, when required), Kaz.

The New Corona Band was named for the father of Clif Barfield, our Appalachian dulcimers and blow downs player, who played rhythm five string banjo for the Corona Band in the thirties and forties.

We are available to play in the Midlands, and possibly further afield, so if you're in the East Midlands or West Midlands, the Black Country, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Derby - well, anywhere, get in touch and see what we can do for you - all sorts of events catered for, birthdays, parties, weddings, company events, we can do it.
