about new corona ceilidh barn dance band

The New Corona Band has been bringing barn dancing fun to the Midlands since 2005. With a combination of fine musicianship and a fun-loving caller, we can make your barn dance go with a swing!

Latest news - the New Corona Band are reviving the Hollybush ceilidhs at the Hollybush, Penn, on the first Wednesday of the month, starting in June. For more details, check the gigs page.
Also see an Express and Star article about it.

Thanks again so much for the band's amazing gig.... Everyone totally loved you. We managed to raise £400 on the night, not including ticket sales.

We are a four-piece band playing traditional English (and some foreign) music for barn dances and ceilidhs. We consist of Pennie on melodeon, Clif on Appalachian dulcimer, Peter on guitar, and Mike on double bass and bass guitar. In addition, we have a regular caller (and singer, when required), Kaz.

The New Corona Band was named for the father of Clif Barfield, our Appalachian dulcimers and blow downs player, who played rhythm five string banjo for the Corona Band in the thirties and forties.

Thank you so very much for providing an absolute stonker of a party on Saturday! People can't stop talking about the dancing - especially people who have never Barn Danced before!
